Remembering seeing these guys at the Longbranch on Bezerkeley in the 70s - I think there might have been ten people in the bar. Nobody had ever heard of them, and it's not like I went out specially to see them - I lived a few doors down from the bar (above a "massage parlor") and was just looking for something to do on Friday night.
Matthias Moritz likes this.
1992 I saw them briefly at the # Bizarre Festival when it took place close to Aachen. The Ramones were the main act and - well - there were really many with Ramones t-shirt's. And, yeah, everybody was actually waiting for the Ramones.
Then finally, in the evening, they came on stage and started playing a few accords and stopped again. They explained that the drummer had a broken arm and he still was having pain in it so he could not play. And they were gone again.
Puh, can you imagine the atmosphere then?
Thank god did The Pogues take over stage then. They really did turn it around again.
