We Are Here (repost)
This is a follow-up to my earlier post You Are Here
In thinking through the #dandelion
metaphor, as well as the comments I received on the earlier post, I started to think in a different direction.
A few commenters wanted a more inclusive message. Specifically, those commenters complained that I had placed the “You Are Here” label all the way to the edge of the diagram, rather than in the “center.” I explained that there is no “center” in a distributed network like diaspora*. But, that got me thinking about the center, and a poem by W.B. Yeats. So, I had an idea about how to tie it all in together in an inclusive way, while expanding on the dandelion mythos: We Are Here. That’s what I came up with.
So, I created a video and uploaded it onto the #YouTube
. Now, keep in mind this is just a concept. I’m not an artist; I just work with ideas. So, believe me, the concept is more spectacular as I envision it. But for all I know, it sucks in reality.
I welcome comments.
