The background of Devin Nunes' tongue-in-cheek lawsuit

In suing these Twitter users, Nunes listed some of their tweets, thus ensuring thousands, if not millions, more people saw what the lawsuit characterized as “defamation”. By the time Nunes filed the lawsuit, Twitter had already suspended Devin Nunes’ Mom. Devin Nunes’ Cow had more than 1,200 followers.

It didn’t help Nunes’ case that his attorneys never found the true identities behind “Devin Nunes’ Mom” and “Devin Nunes’ Cow”, so pieces of the complaint read as if Nunes’ actual mother and his cow were the perpetrators, turning the lawsuit into a parody of itself.

Don't forget about Devin Nunes' skin (Still thin) and Devin Nunes' Alt-Mom. Honourable mention: Devin Nunes' Ego.

Trump to name former Delta Airlines executive as head of FAA

The nomination would come amid intense scrutiny over the FAA’s approval of Boeing 737 Max 8. Investigators of an Ethiopian Airlines crash earlier this month have said they detected “clear similarities” between that flight and another fatal crash in Indonesia in October.

Earlier Tuesday, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao sent a memo to the department’s inspector general, formalizing a request for an audit of the FAA’s certification of the Boeing planes.

Why Sen. Lindsey Graham (R - S.C.) blocked a vote on the Mueller report

Speaking this week after a Republican event in his home state, Graham told the Charleston Post and Courier, “We don’t want partial transparency. We want full transparency of 2016.” He said he wants the FBI to also release information about the investigation into the Hillary Clinton campaign, according to the newspaper

I also want an FBI report on Ivanka's mails, just saying... I'm justm aking a political point myself as well.

Calling for a vote on the non-binding resolution, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, “There is no good reason, no good reason that the special counsel’s report should not be made public. The American people are overwhelmingly for the report being made public. They have a right to see it. No one should stand in the way of that,” according to The Hill.

When the resolution got to the Senate, Graham “asked to amend the resolution to include the appointment of a new special counsel to investig... show more

Supreme Court legalises retard detention after served sentence

The 5-4 decision, which reverses a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, is widely viewed as a victory for the Drumpf administration and its hardline immigration policies. It, like the Obama administration, had argued that the government has the authority to pick up and detain immigrants for deportation at any time, and is not required to act only immediately after a prison or jail sentence has been served.

Writing for the court's dissenting liberal wing, Justice Stephen Breyer warned that the ruling gives the government too much power. The law is clear, he wrote, that the government cannot hold an immigrant without a bail hearing unless the individual is detained when released from criminal custody.

"For two years in a row now, the Supreme Court has endorsed the most extreme interpretation of immigration detention statutes, allowing mass incarceration of people without any hearing, simply because they are defending themselves against a deportation charge,... show more

Special Counsel Robert Mueller III. demands 11-day extension for final report

For months now, rumors have been rampant that Mueller’s final report and the conclusion of his work are imminent. Some top attorneys on his team are leaving, and his top FBI agent has already left. All the specific predictions about when, exactly, the report would be done have turned out to be wrong so far, but all things must come to an end eventually.

The lawyers referenced are Michael Dreeben and Adam Jed. But it’s unclear what they’re busy with at the moment. There are no imminent deadlines in Roger Stone’s case, or the two appeals from a Stone associate and a mystery company. There’s a March 25 deadline in the Russian troll farm case, but Dreeben and Jed don’t appear to be involved in that filing.

Rep. Steve King (R - IA) uncertain about whether a white society was superior to a nonwhite one

“I don’t have an answer for that. That’s so hypothetical,” Mr. King, Republican of Iowa, told her. “I’ll say this, America is not a white society — it has never been a completely white society. We came here and joined the Native Americans.”

I wouldn't call a genocidal commitment and the full displacement of Natives from their homeland joining.

Mr. King again faced scrutiny on Monday after a post on his Facebook page speculated who would win a second civil war between red states and blue states.

On Tuesday, pressed by a reporter from CNN, Mr. King told constituents that he “wasn’t aware” that the image had been published on his Facebook page the night before, and said he does not personally manage that page.

Fourht dead migrant in CBP custody

He died at an El Paso hospital after receiving treatment for flu-like symptoms and liver and kidney failure. He's the fourth migrant to die in CBP custody since December, including an 8-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl.

In a statement, ACLU Border Rights Center Director Astrid Dominguez said "a transparent and independent investigation into the conditions at CBP detention facilities and its medical care practices is needed immediately."

Sen. Mitt Romney (R - UT) calls out Trump for attacks against John McCain

During an Oval Office appearance with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Drumpf railed against McCain’s 2017 Senate vote against a Republican bill that would have repealed the Affordable Care Act.

“He spends his weekend obsessing over great men because — he knows it and I know it and all of you know it — he will never be a great man. My father was his kryptonite in life and he is his kryptonite in death,” McCain said Monday on “The View,” adding, “Your life is spent on your weekends not with your family, not with your friends, but obsessing, obsessing over great men you could never live up to. That tells you everything you need to know about his pathetic life right now.”

People tend to call this an inferiority complex.

Native inmates won lawsuit to grow their hair long due to spiritual beliefs

The trio of long-time prisoners at the McConnell Unit sued the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in federal court, arguing that their Native American spiritual beliefs regard hair as an extension of the soul, something to be cut only when in mourning. The prison system’s rules requiring men to keep short hair or face disciplinary consequences, the inmates and their attorneys argued, were an unfair violation of religious freedom.

Even though female prisoners are allowed to have long hair, attorneys for the state claimed that letting men do the same would cost too much money to police, that prisoners would get too hot in uncooled facilities, that it would make identifying inmates harder and that it could increase the number of inmate suicides.

I don't get the last argument. Do they beleive that they could use their hair as a noose, to strangle themselves to death? Or how do they explain this argument?

“Although both male and female offenders ... show more
