What If You Were Made of Dark Matter?

What would it actually be like if every particle in your body converted into a dark matter particle? And how long could you last in that state? Everything that we can see in the Universe is a massive mash-up of electrons, protons and neutrons fused into atoms. It's what is called baryonic, or just ordinary, matter. Your body is made up of it too. But there is a lot of stuff out there that we don't see, stuff that we call dark matter and dark energy.

To detect alien civilizations, astronomers need to make some assumptions about the forms they might take — and the traces their technological artifacts could leave behind.

- #Rotating #blackholes may #serve as #gentle #portals for #hyperspace #travel

The reason that this is possible is that the relevant singularity inside a rotating black hole is technically “weak,” and thus does not damage objects that interact with it.

On a clear night, you might be able to point out a few constellations — maybe the Big Dipper, Orion’s Belt, and your Zodiac sign. But to see the Hulk and Albert Einstein, you’re going to need help from a powerful space telescope.

Physics is not about learning about objects. It is about learning, Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? Physics is about learning about us and all creatures, as well as all the Universe which we are all an intimate part of. From the creatures to the planets and time itself.
