I get it. Life is hard, and increasingly uncertain.
Maybe your life is going good now. That’s great!
Or maybe it’s not. I’m very sorry. You are not alone.
Life is fragile, life can pass away in an instant, at any moment, without warning.
That’s why eternal life matters. Eternal life is life to the fullest, life that never ends.
It’s the complete polar opposite of death.
You can have this life!
We, as humans, you and I, have all sinned. Everyone has. We might think of ourselves as “good people”, but the reality is that we can never be good enough on our own. By disobeying God’s will, we have hurt ourselves, others, and have grieved Him. Our disobedience comes with consequences, and we, as sinners, are by default, destined for punishment. Eternal death, apart from our Creator. But God doesn’t want it to end that way!
Thank GOD that He has never given up on us!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.…”
God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to live on Earth as one of us, to experience the challenges of temporary life as we know it; while being the only perfect person to walk this planet. He never committed any evil, but he chose to take on all of the evil that has ever been, and will be committed, by every person that has ever lived or has yet to live. Out of love, He took on all of the consequences of this evil, and died a painful death so that we could be forgiven of our sins and saved from eternal death apart from God. Jesus rose from the dead and is alive!
This is why you might hear someone say “Jesus loves you”. No matter what you have done. It’s not a cliche or a meaningless statement. Jesus really does love you! He wants to have a relationship with you and give you the free gift of eternal life.
You do have a choice. Jesus would never force you into accepting him. God operates on the basis of free will.
You are free to choose eternal life with Him in Heaven after you leave this Earth, and equally free to choose eternal death apart from Him in Hell.
The time to make this choice is now, because your life on Earth can end at any moment.
Here’s how you can choose eternal life:
A. Admit that you are a sinner. Turn away (Repent) from your sin.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
B. Believe Jesus is Lord
Trust that Jesus is God’s Son and that God sent Jesus to save people from their sins.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever
believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
C. Call upon His name. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior.
That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
If you do truly do these things with your heart, Jesus’ spirit lives in you! Your sins are forgiven and He will guide and help you in your life.
You now have the gift of eternal life!
You can get to know Him better by reading your Bible and praying. The whole Bible is written about Jesus. Prayer is your dialogue with Him.
