A Tour de Force of the Hatchet Job on Richard Stallman (aka RMS) that forced his resignation from the Free Software Foundation (FSF).

This report has great credibility with me because I know RMS fairly well. He was an invited speaker by me to the IEEE Computer Society of NH. He is a unique individual who single-handedly changed the face of what I will call "public software." (I have no doubt that if he were to read my description he would take exception. RMS is alwas good, but never easy.)

I think free software is now at risk because leadership is bifurcated between FSF and GNU (GNU's Not Unix Project), and in the case of FSF (now bereft of RMS), commercial interests now appear to reign supreme.

BTW, the Lessig description of RMS in the piece, IMHO, is masterful.

A defense of #rms. The thoughts from former ACLU president Nadine Strossen are worth reading. #stallman

People who compete for the crown of #RichardStallman aren’t reluctant to portray him as something he’s patently not or even pretend to be his friends whilst behind the scenes working to destroy him http://techrights.org/2020/03/08/rms-false-narratives/ #billgates #mit #rms #gnu

"...misinformation, the blatant bias in so-called mistakes, and most of all the stalling and refusal to take corrective actions made for a very clear pattern of subversion of authority to turn the #RMS -founded #FSF into an RMS-less, post-RMS FSF."

I wrote a lot about #RMS and #MIT and #GNU #FSF etc...

I can point out more relevant articles on this topic.

The key takeaway, having researches this for months, is that MIT protected money and power (and itself), not women or children.
