Writing a long article about #zemlinpac at the moment. It's so sad to see what they've become. Imagine some people actually gave them donations and had their credit card (commissions for these millionaires). #linuxfoundation

Some #zemlinpac ("Linux" Foundation) give you empty pages unless you enable #javascript (e.g. https://www.fedai.org/ )

...and FWIW, #zemlinpac exists not "to pay Torvalds' salary" but to pay dozens of ~$500,000/year salaries to the likes of #zemlinpac riding the coattails of Linus Torvalds and his project, #linux

It doesn't make much research to see that #OIN is about making FOSS more into large corporations with their #swpats

Not making those corporations more like FOSS

Same for #zemlinpac

They just misuse the "Linux" brand

#oil companies thoroughly corrupt #politics the way #microsoft corrupts #freesw groups like #zemlinpac OSI #github etc.

More #microsoft in #zemlinpac

Linux Foundation Archives: the less investigative articles about #zemlinpac (but many still relevant)

Even #Palantir now uses #zemlinpac as a front group. This is not good and it's only a matter of time before the "Linux" Foundation gets associated with things like #concentrationcamps (which #microsoft proudly profits from, brags about)

#zemlinpac now has "community" leadership that decided to go work for Microsoft

it's an actual decision, nobody is born this way

"LINUX.COM EDITORIAL STAFF"

Really?

The one is just sacked?

Maybe it paid a little money for someone to log in and 'shill' the press release of #zemlinPAC

#zemlinPAC calls corporate people "community"; it just really doesn't want to understand what the #gnu #linux community really is. It really can't. Money talks. The Board is compromised.

Wow.

Vice Chair Wim Coekaerts. He worked for #microsoft (!!)

Also, Nithya Ruff is hardly "community"; corporate tool (see career history).

#zemlinpac

Some high-profile people in the #gnu #linux community ask us about #zemlinpac aka the "Linux" Foundation; we're open to receiving any information we have not yet covered; LF/PAC is secretive for a reason.

#zemlinpac could link to this (official) page instead of to #microsoft

#kubernetes is under attack by virtue of being stuck under the #zemlin PAC and the same is nowadays true for #apache

#surveillancecapitalism giants want to masquerade as a nonprofit; #zemlinpac is their facilitator https://www.tfir.io/2019/06/18/open-source-osquery-project-to-get-its-own-foundation/ see http://techrights.org/wiki/index.php/Linux_Foundation

#microsoft no longer needs to destroy #linux
It just needs to steal it (or the leadership position, brand)
You need not destroy what you steal
Look what they turned #zemlinpac into...

An exceptionally slow Monday in the news. Struggling to keep #tuxmachines apace.

It's not helping that #zemlinpac 'killed' linuxDotCom

Urban #surveillance -- sometimes euphemistically dubbed "smart city" -- needs to seem ethical. So #zemlinpac is paid for #openwashing of it.

Lots of nice-sounding words for #surveillancestate benefits. The #surveillancecapitalism giants sponsor this #surveillance group of #zemlinpac (whose chief communicator used to be James Clapper's) https://twitter.com/ucfdn/status/1138136768660758528 http://techrights.org/2019/05/28/lf-big-surveillance-industry/

#surveillance agenda at #zemlinpac

Been thinking a lot about #zemlinPAC today

One reason they're quiet and effectively shut down linuxDOTcom (after ~20 years) is that it threatens their 'non-profit' status. Don't want to become "The Linux Corporation".

What is this #zemlinpac spam? Is it paid for? Some of it is for #microsoft as well...

The #zemlinpac now works >for< #microsoft e.g. https://training.linuxfoundation.org/training/administering-linux-on-azure/ and https://training.linuxfoundation.org/training/deploying-and-managing-linux-on-azure/
Administering Linux on Azure (LFS205)

#zemlinpac uses a .org domain for itself, but it's hardly a nonprofit. #linuxcom (the .com domain) it no longer keeps active. In reality they would make more sense of they stopped the .org pretense and embraced .com as they're run commercially with massive salaries, profits.

I asked Larry Augustin about @LinuxFoundation killing 'his' site linux.com but he did not respond. Will the site rest on the ashes of history or will the #zemlinpac relinquish control (for the sake of something or someone who would actually run the site, keeping it active)?

Today someone told me an excuse: #zemlinpac uses #github to mirror #linux trees to save bandwidth/load costs. Seriously? A $100,000,000/year (tax-exempted) body cannot buy another server to increase capacity? So instead outsource to #microsoft ? Give me a break...

#zemlinpac promoting and spreading #proprietarysoftware and #proprietary formats of #microsoft
"vendor-neutral [sic]“.doc” format"
Accord Project to develop open source framework for smart legal contracts

#zemlinpac is so #proprietarysoftware -friendly that even #apple money is in its pot. And its chief uses a "Mac" PC, not #gnu #linux
Apple joins the open-source Cloud Native Computing Foundation

Even #zemlinpac which misuses the name "Linux" while promoting #microsoft agenda and #azure etc. now advertises job openings that suggest you open an account with Microsoft to apply (for "Linux Foundation")

Keynote speakers at next "open" conference of #zemlinpac are 33% technical, 33% #surveillancecapitalism and 33% nontechnical (which I think correctly represents what the #zemlin PAC stands for)

Keynote speakers at next "open" conference of #zemlinpac
1) #surveillancecapitalism #google (in "cloud" clothing with "DevOps")
2) #surveillance capitalism #uber
3) Diversity person (nontechnical)
4) Intel (NSA in every chip)
5) Microsoft enabler Greg Kroah-Hartman

"if developing useful software is outlawed, only outlaws will develop useful software" -MinceR at #techrights in light of #zemlinPAC restrictions on coders

Top #intel execs (and what I think is >still< the #zemlinPAC CTO) targeted me some years ago with a dedicated conference call designed to sway/change my mind on #uefi 'secure boot'; but they didn't succeed

I'm sort of 90% (ish) sure that #zemlinpac has been quiet these past few months because it's internally reassessing its direction and conduct. That's a process. This process is likely a positive thing. A "Linux Foundation" need to remember Linux is spelled with "x", not "$".

9) Curiously enough, I hardly have any "allies" inside the "Linux" Foundation, #zemlinpac

Curious, given what they call themselves... I'm a LONGTIME Linux advocate.

I do have sources inside #microsoft #epo and had some at #novell

At OSI's Board most are on my side

#zemlinpac now gets money from #apple too https://www.tfir.io/2019/06/13/apple-joins-open-source-organization-cncf/ watch out, don't criticise Apple; there's a CoC now. http://techrights.org/wiki/index.php/Linux_Foundation
